Originally built to be a palatial hunting lodge, Schönbrunn Palace now stands as the most visited tourist attraction in Austria. A tour of this late-Baroque style building will take your students through the history of the owners, political encounters and impeccably furnished residential rooms.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born at 9, Getreidegasse on the 27th January 1756. His house has been turned into a museum where visitors can walk through the original rooms in which his family lived and see a range of original artefacts including historical instruments, documents and mementos.
Follow in the footsteps of the von Trapp family with a full day “Sound of Music Tour” including the Mirabell Gardens where Maria and the children sing “Do – Re – Mi”, the Leopoldskron Castle used as the Trapp family home, Hellbrunn Castle, Noonberg Abbey where the Baron and Maria got married in 1927, St Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang and the wedding church in Mondsee where the film wedding took place.
This skyline of this beautiful city is dominated by the Hohensalzburg, the fortress palace of the Prince-Archbishops. The city is associated with Music with its world renowned summer music festival. This is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a visit to Mozart’s House in the city centre gives an insight into the early life of this iconic composer.
